Staff Development

The Wessex Group recognised the need to publish a Staff Recruitment & Development Policy to underpin their Business Development Strategy and Objectives.

In this policy we explain that a significant proportion of our future supervisor and managerial positions will be filled by the promotion of existing Staff members, many of whom have developed through our “Apprenticeship Scheme”. Subsequently we established a “Management Development Scheme” that incorporates three courses of training – Supervisory, Management & Advance Management.

Staff will apply to join the Wessex “Staff Development Programme” and, following a process of personality profiling and psychometric testing, a proportion will be formally inducted into the programme.

It is also possible for individuals to be a part of the “Wessex Staff Development Programme” and undertake recognised development focused courses that are not necessarily associated to supervision or management, resulting in recognised qualification in areas such as Engineering, Accountancy, and Information Technology
