Stourhead, National Trust

Client: National Trust

Location: Stourhead, Wiltshire

Description of Work: Heating Installation

Date of Completion: October 2014

Stourhead is a 2,650-acre estate at the source of the River Stour near Mere, Wiltshire, England. It has been in the ownership of the National Trust since the 1940’s. The world-famous landscape garden has at its centrepiece a magnificent lake reflecting classical temples, mystical grottoes, and rare and exotic trees.

Wessex have worked with the National Trust on many projects before including Lacock Abbey, Max Gate in Dorchester and the Museum of London. Set within the grounds are 3 pretty cottages which required heating upgrades.

To improve the current heating rating in the cottages, we were asked to install 3 new LPG combination boilers and heating systems. The works were completed as quickly as possible to ensure minimal disruption for the residents.

"The Tenants directly affected by the works and I found that the Managers and Operatives of the HVAC & Plumbing Dept of Wessex Group who dealt with the 3No Heating installation contract on the Stourhead estate to be very personable, polite,  professional and efficient in all aspects of their work in their delivery of this project"

Karl Papierz, Building Surveyor for National Trust
