Background:

Marks and Spencer is one of Britain’s biggest multinational retailers, with over 700 stores in the UK and over 360 stores spread across 40 countries. M&S was founded in 1884 by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer, and they sell a huge variety of food, clothes, technology and homeware, to name just a few products.

Scope:

We have been working with Marks and Spencer since 2006, and are now in our 7th year of partnership with the successful renewal of our contract in 2012. Initially, we covered a relatively small geographical area, with a contract value of around £500,000 a year.

We now provide coverage for 103 stores across much of southern England and the contract value has increased to £2,500,000 a year.

We work very closely with the regional RSM’s and local Store Managers and are very aware of the importance of keeping the trading environment at a standard where it improves the experience of the consumer.

We currently maintain all the HVAC equipment in these stores and assisted in carrying out the 5 year Electrical Condition Test & Report with an independent third party.

Following this project we were required to undertake all the electrical remedial works, amounting to 617 work instructions to be completed within a 6 week period.

This required us to dispatch up to six Engineers per site and undertake the majority of works between 11pm & 6am, allowing the store to keep trading during its peak period in the run up to Christmas.
