Trainee Management Account - Shaftesbury - Wessex Group

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a trainee Management Accountant to join our team.

Ideally you will be part way through your studies towards either a CIMA or ACCA qualification, or be fully AAT qualified, with plenty of practical experience gained along the way. For the right candidate we would be prepared to support the continuation of your study towards one of the above accounting qualifications. This role will see you taking ownership of the accounting process from start to finish to produce monthly management accounts.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Creating and posting journals
  • Prepayments
  • Accruals
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Long term Work In Progress adjustments
  • Trial Balance reconciliations
  • P&L production
  • Variance and margin analysis
  • Producing various MI reports
  • Intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • VAT returns.

There will also be an involvement in annual budgets, regular forecasts, and audit preparation.

Essential Competencies:

  • CIMA or ACCA part qualified with hands on experience or fully AAT qualified
  • Strong communications skills
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Ability to interrogate data
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines

Desirable:

  • Experience within the construction industry and of CIS
  • Experience within a group

Remuneration:

  • Salary dependent on experience
