HR Administrator - Wessex Group - Shaftesbury

Wessex Group provides a central HR service to our subsidiary companies that employ over 300 staff between them. Based at our head office in Shaftesbury and reporting to the HR Manager, you will be providing comprehensive HR administration support to the HR Department.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Administration and co-ordination support to the HR function including: Recruitment, Inductions, Training/Development and Employee Relations.
  • Updating and maintaining the HR database including: Employee Records, Sickness Data, Qualifications and Health & Safety records.
  • Liaising with employees, line managers and Directors across all companies.
  • Provide monthly data reports to HR Manager.
  • Ensuring all HR activities undertaken comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Undertake security screening activities, liaising where appropriate with external agencies.

Essential competencies:

  • Strong administration skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively to meet targets.
  • Tactful, diplomatic and approachable manner, demonstrating high levels of confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated and supportive team player.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Desirable competencies:

  • Previous working experience within an HR function.
  • Level 3 CIPD Qualification (or equivalent).
