Client: Hall & Woodhouse
Location: Hall & Woodhouse Brewery, Blandford, Dorset
Description of Works: Design & installation of a 50KW roof mounted PV installation on their new Brewery packaging plant
Background:
Hall and Woodhouse is an independent and family run brewery which started back in 1777. Their pub estate has grown to over 200 and their award-winning Badger beer can be found nationally in supermarkets and off-licenses.
Scope:
Hall & Woodhouse Brewery in Blandford is under a redevelopment & modernisation programme of the Brewery and Process plant. Phase two of the development and modernisation involved a new Bottling & Packaging plant, within this phase of the works the Wessex Electricals team carried out the complete design and installation for electrical services, including fire alarms and renewable technologies.
On the roof of the new plant we installed a 50 KW solar array designed with 3D modelling to produce a site wide shade analysis of the Hall & Woodhouse Brewery which identified potential generation for other rooftops across the site and allowed the detailed design of the 50 KW system to maximise generation and maintain the full use of natural light internally via the skylights.
The panels are top of the range Trina Solar 275w high efficiency modules connected to ABB trio inverters, with ABB Evo data logger to allow remote monitoring.
