Electrical
Certification

Stay compliant, stay safe

Whether you carry out electrical work yourself, or have it done by a professional, it must be certified as meeting the appropriate standards and requirements. These regulations are in place to keep you, your family and your property safe.

Quality test

Testing of any circuits, fittings, and electrical items must be carried out by trained professionals, using the appropriate equipment and with a full understanding of the regulations and the law.

Wessex use up-to-the-minute diagnostic equipment, specifically designed to align with the British Standards, Part P Regulations, to test electricals throughout your home. These include: newly installed circuits, replacement fuseboxes, alterations to existing circuits in special locations, and any small electrical equipment.

Rest assured in the experts

As well as our technical diagnostic tools, our experienced experts use their huge breadth of knowledge to validate any electrical work. Their specialist eyes will be able to pick up any issues of safety, corrosion, wear and tear, age, excessive loading, damage and deterioration.

We ensure that our customers are complying with Health and Safety Executive requirements by providing one-off or regular equipment inspections, as well as maintaining records and test results for you. As you would expect from our team of experts, all our tests are carried out in accordance with current British Standards and in a manner that fully complies with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

Size is not an issue

Wessex offer both fixed installation and portable appliance testing, meaning that we can carry out any tests or certification no matter the size.

It’s the law

By law, a homeowner or landlord must be able to prove that all electrical installation work carried out in their property meets Part P, or they will be committing a criminal offence. If you are a keen electrical DIYer, Wessex will be able to test your work, and keep you legal, and safe.

Fix the fails

While we are on site, with your permission, we will attempt to fix any equipment that fails. And if we can’t, a ‘Fail – Do Not Use’ label will be attached before we discuss next steps.

Landlord compliance

For landlords, the regulations are even tighter. We can carry out full end-to-end inspection, testing and certification for rental properties, as a one-off or a regular check.

Accreditation

Safecontractor
